January has historically been a good month for the number of items collected following closely behind the Christmas holiday. with this period of time reflecting 68 items. I have cut back on what I purchase, preferring the higher end and less available pieces due in part to educating myself on what sells for a higher profit and the pure fact that there is less room to store anything else. My goal of three digits fell way below with the retail showing only 46.7 times as much but the brands purchased were well worth it as you will see.
Treasures – There were many treasures this time but here are some that really stand out that still provide the goose bump test. The top of the list has to be the Louis Vuitton monogram business brief case. It appears to be brand new and everyone in the family has put their claim on it. A white lambskin Chanel purse was also a lucky find and well worth the sixteen dollars. My daughter was the lucky recipient of a five-hundred-dollar pair of El Dorado ostrich western boots I picked up for less than twenty dollars. They look like new after she worked them over. Brioni came in with two six hundred dollar shirts and five ties, a name I always look forward to seeing. Another shirt, a Purple Label Ralph Lauren plaid was located for less than five dollars. Last but not least, Dolce & Gabbana produced a brand new pair of tan jeans and well worth the twenty-eight dollars. Everything else following can be considered a treasure as you will agree after you see the names represented.
Dress Jackets – Two very nice suit jackets made the list this month. One of these was quite different, a grey Canali with the Exclusive label on it and another grey Giorgio Armani LeCollezioni very fancy jacket with three flower button holes were hard to pass over. Both fit nicely and it was easy to find a pair of pants that matched each.
Shirts – A grand total of fifteen shirts were picked up with some great names like Giorgio Armani (2), Brioni (2), Canali (2), Ermenegildo Zegna (2), Eton Classic, Gieves & Hawkes, Ike Behar New York, Luccehese 1883, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Turnbull & Asser and a Wrangler Jack Daniels. I am forever looking for anything with the name of Brioni on it but especially their fine shirts. This brand fits fantastic and looks even better. The red Jack Daniels from Wrangler was picked up for a certain cowgirl I know.
Pants – Only three pair of trousers were located that I wanted but they could not be passed over. The name of Burberry looks great but especially a dress pair of black pants that pair up with most of my black and grey dress jackets. Dolce & Gabbana was a great surprise with a brand new pair of tan jeans sporting a large label for everyone to see who made this pair of pants.
Ties – This was a good month for locating some great ties, 29 to be exact. Check out some of these names and the photo for some great examples. These included the brands from Armani Collezioni, Brioni (5), Canali (2), Chiavari, Christian Lacroix, Dolce & Gabbana, Ermenegildo Zegna (8), Fendi Cravatte (2), Hermès, Lanvin Paris (2), Stefano Ricci, Valentino, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent (2).
Shoes – I believe this was the greatest number of shoes purchased in one month which included an Ecco Windsor slip on, El Dorado handmade boot with Ostrich ($500), Giorgio Armani sneaker ($875), a Gucci driver ($590), a Justin Bay Apache leather cowboy boot ($185), Prada penny loafer ($695) and a Salvatore Ferragamo Oxford ($795). There were also a set of cedar shoe trees from Maus & Hoffman and Nader.
Accessories – This category held quite a variety as usual. Some of these items included an HDMI cable from AudioQuest, a white Chanel purse ($834), a Coach cloth and leather belt ($225), DIY wood book cover, Louis Vuitton Monogram business bag ($3,400), Macon glass top watch box, Michael Kors large leather smartphone wristlet ($118), Stetson Osceola Stingy Brim linen hat ($120) and a Vera Bradley Iconic Ultimate diaper bag ($128).
The following chart is a breakdown of the sixty-eight items purchased during the month of January, 2019. My total expenditure was $537.44 and the full retail would have cost me forty-seven times as much, right at $25,073.44.

Knowing your brands in each category of interest, as to which will command a greater return on your investment, is good business sense. Become familiar with the products that sell well or have a long lasting international respect and when you find them in good condition, they will bring you a good net satisfaction. Good luck with your Goodwill hunting.
